Lighting Workshop Module #1

For this week we were taught how to properly set up 3-point lighting for showing off our models. 3-point lighting refers to the use of a key, rim, and fill light. Each light serves its own purpose, the key acting as the main light source illuminating the subject. The rim light serves to separate the edges of the subject and separate it from the background. The fill or bounce lighting serves to brighten up the shadows and bring clarity to the subject. The use of all three lights is known as 3-point lighting. In the colored images, each light is given its own color, red for key, green for fill, and blue for rim.
